OUR STORY
Our father, was raised on a cattle farm in the Eastern Cape, South Africa and enjoyed the robust, often spicy and typical South African cuisine on a daily basis. A family favourite was always the homemade beef biltong, spicy and air dried to perfection thereby maintaining it's delicious natural flavours and nutritional value.
Growing up in rural parts of Rhodesia (now known as Zimbabwe), we called 'Lavina's Rust' home. A beautiful setting in the leafy Nhordi Valley where fresh farm produce were in abundance. Needless to say, the tradition of biltong making continued on a regular basis and there was an endless supply to satisfy our own needs as well as those of the endless stream of visitors to the farm.
Now well established in Queensland, our family have continued to make biltong for family and friends and have recently expanded our production of both biltong and dried wors to sell to the broader community through our website.
Our biltong is hormone free, preservative free and gluten free and our spices are sourced from Australian suppliers.
We are proud supporters of the Queensland meat industry and source only high quality meat for our products.
Our dried wors does contain the preservative Sodium Sulphite and some flavour enhancers and may not be suitable for people who are very sensitive to Gluten, soya bean or egg allergies.
